It is none other than Cloudfare 1.1.1.1. Lets see about this tool in detail. In order to completely understand this, we need to know the basics of DNS(Domain Name System).

WHAT IS DNS?

The Domain Name System (DNS) is the phone directory of the Internet. Basically, Humans access information online through domain names, like kdttechy.com or youtube.com. Web browsers interact through IP addresses and DNS translates domain names to IP addresses so browsers can load Internet resources.

Each device connected to the Internet has a unique IP address which other machines use to find the device. For Example, if i want to go to Google, i would type this google.com. This then gets converted as a IP addresses such as 8.8.8.8. This is how DNS works.

WHAT IS 1.1.1.1 AND HOW IT WORKS

1.1.1.1 is a public DNS resolver managed by Cloudflare that offers a quick and method in which is private browse the Internet. Unlike others, 1.1.1.1 doesn’t offer user data to advertisers. It has in addition been assessed becoming the quickest DNS resolver available.

INSTALLATION

WINDOWS:

  1. Download Cloudflare_WARP_Release-x64.msi
  2. Navigate to Downloads folder and double-click on Cloudflare_WARP_Release-x64.msi.
  3. Follow the instructions in the installer to complete installation.
  4. Cloudflare WARP will automatically launch and appear in your menu bar with the Cloudflare logo.

MAC:

  1. Download Cloudflare_WARP.zip
  2. Navigate to the downloads folder and double-click on Cloudflare_WARP.zip.
  3. Double click on the Cloudflare_WARP.pkg file that is extracted.
  4. Follow instructions in the installer to complete installation.
    • Cloudflare WARP will automatically launch and appear in your menu bar with the Cloudflare logo.

Android and IOS devices have most straight forward installation procedures. You just have to download the 1.1.1.1 app from the respective stores and install them.

CONCLUSION

I conclude by saying that, if you cannot afford a VPN and security is not your concern and only wish to have speed, you can definitely go for 1.1.1.1 as it is also completely free. But, if you wish for a good security and speed too, you should stick with the VPN.
