Whatsapp is the most engaged top texting Social Media Platform owned by the tech giant Facebook. It is a known proven fact that most of the users being smartphone the users of Whatsapp messenger. When there is a competent for Whatsapp, in all probability it could be the Telegram.

Instant applications that are messaging and Telegram, that are considered to be arch rivals, are constantly focusing on changes to enhance user experience. Both has its own strengths and weaknesses, its benefits and drawbacks, but in this informative article, i’m gonna describe complete details and features of both and gonna give you a suggestion that is final.

WhatsApp was incorporated in 2009 by Brian Acton and Jan Koum, both former employees of Yahoo!. Then few years after the release of Whatsapp, Facebook acquired it for the rate of $19 billion.

The telegram was launched in 2013 by brothers Nikolai and Pavel Durov, who previously founded the Russian social network VK, but had to leave the company after it was taken over by Mail.ru Group.

Telegram provides unlimited storage. Means all your text messages, images media files & documents will be saved on their cloud. You can log out and log in any number of times from any number of devices simultaneously without losing any data, you don’t need to worry about backup & restore. You can view the active sessions and see on which devices are you logged in now. 

2. Media compression

Users can choose whether to compress the image and video or send the uncompressed version.

3. Group members capacity

There are two types of groups in Telegram. They are Normal and Super Groups. A normal group can contain a maximum of 200 members, when the maximum is reached, it automatically converts into super group. A super group can contain a maximum of 5000 members which is huge! compared to Whatsapp.

4. Username feature

Through this feature, you can chat with someone with their phone numbers. This is a great feature as it protects the privacy of the people to whom we are sending messages.

5. Channels

A channel is somewhat similar to groups, which can accommodate an unlimited number of members. The creator of the channel can decide who can post and other members can view the posts.

7. Secret chat

Secret chat is a kind of chat in which one can set self-destruct timer and it also has the end-to-end encryption feature. The messages will be automatically deleted when the timer hits. It is possibly not able to hack in any way.

8. Bots

It is a piece of program which is based on AI and machine learning at a small level. It can perform various tasks. For example, an image bot can fetch images from the name.
There are multiple types of bots. Popular bots are Image bot, sticker bot, gif bot.

In the latest version of Telegram, you can make voice calls.

Users can send any kind of file through Telegram. Whatsapp limits video, images & document type files. This is not suitable and quite nice for advanced users.

Whatsapp informs the sender about the delivery and reads the status of the other user in a timely manner. It is a super cool feature.

Whatsapp uses end to end encryption everywhere.
